Lights, Camera, Action!

So here is my attempt at getting that "perfect" Christmas card picture. Let's just say the kids wanted to eat starburst and "undecorate" the tree instead of pose for any sort of picture. When it was all said & done, or shall I say when I decided to give up on the "perfect" picture, I had worked up a sweat. Here are some out takes. Merry Christmas All!!

Much Love~

Fun Project!

I was blog browsing & came across the neatest idea for a write-on/wipe-off board. Take a picture frame of your choice, fill it with a cool fabric, put sticky backed velcro on the marker & side of frame (to hold your marker), & presto you have a one of kind write on surface!! I need to pick up some neon colored markers, but here are some pics of my project. Hope you like!!

One Day I'll Finish

So here is a preview of what I have been working on. This should have been done in one day, but that one day has turned into a couple weeks! Shame, shame, I know. It is a Diaper Tote for a sweet baby girl. No one in particular though. I'm making this to list in my Etsy Shop. My poor little teeny tiny shop looks all neglected and needs a truck load of goodies delivered. I would be the one in charge of those deliveries, so my hiney better get to busting a move! Hah.:) After I finish this Diaper Tote I will be making one for a boy. The boy material is so stinkin cute... vintage little camping cowboys. Anyways here is a little look at the makings of this girly diaper bag. Enjoy!!!

Lil' Lumberjack

So it's that time of year when the chill hits you to the bone and the best way to soothe the shivers is by a fire. This would be our third load of firewood this year and that's ok because we have been using only the wood burning stove. Talk about cutting back on the propane & electric bill! So Isaac was away with his Aunt Penny and that left Momma, Daddy, & Isabelle to gather wood. If a baby girl must be out in the elements then she needs proper "wood gathering attire"! Where do you find the perfect place for lumberjack duds, you ask? Why in big brothers closet of course!

Wrap This Around Your Head!

So here I go again, making something else. hehe. VINTAGE is my new favorite word, design, oh well, my new favorite everything. Actually I have always been a fan of the old stuff and thought of myself as an old soul. :) So why not embrace it? I think this style is what I love best. I'm pretty new at this creating my own design thing so finding what I really love has been a journey. When I would pick fabrics in the past I would think about what I thought was popular & what others would like. I'm still gonna kinda do the same thing, but now it will have my twist in there too...which it should since it's coming from me, right? Blah, blah... enough about all that. Here are some hair pieces that I have put together. I hope you like!

These will soon be up for sale on my Etsy shop! Stop by & visit.... http://www.etsy.com/shop/isaacisabelle

Adventures In Baking

So my beautiful niece, Naomi, taught me the wonderful art of baking! Like I needed another art to learn. Hehe! I do love it, but just as a every now & then, only for family, type of thing. I will stick to sewing as my major hobby. Here are some things I "whipped" up. You will notice Isabelle's cupcakes & cake that I made for her birthday. That is my favorite!

Yummy, yummy, yummy! Nothings better, & I mean NOTHING, than homemade buttercream icing!!

Cousins

Boys, boys, boys. Ages one, two, & three. What else is there to say?? So, yeah Isabelle is the only girl and absent from this picture, but don't you worry your pretty little face, she can hold her own!

These guys are such a blast to spend time with, if you're in the mood for exercise. Hah! Running and jumping and yelling and yes, even the occasional fight will take place. Then there are moments like this one where they are calm and sweet. All in the truck and out for an afternoon drive. Jack is at the wheel (of course) Aidan is the passanger ( aka back-seat driver) and Isaac would be the load that they are hauling. Their destination is anywhere a toddlers imagination will go. Maybe to the candy store or to the toy store? Where ever it may be I'm sure it's an awesome place! Look at their faces...so innocent and filled with an abundance of happiness. If we could all see life through the eyes of a child!

Potter Inspired Birthday Party

That would be Beatrix Potter that inspired my baby girl's 1st birthday party. I have to say that this was one cute little party and here are some pics from Isabelle's special day.
Love her smile, love her eyes, love the mess on her face, just love everything about this perfect baby girl!

Big brother Isaac is enjoying his baby sister's day too! Afterall who doesn't like a fun crowd and lots of cupcakes!!

Do you like my great yard sale finds!?! Yep, most of the decorations came straight from a yard sale or flea market.

My best friend Jen made the roses for the cake and cupcakes! Aren't they purty!?! The garden cupcakes and cheese curl carrots were on the kiddo table. That's the way to get your kids to eat their carrots.:)

So mama & Isabelle had matching dress and apron. I found the cutest fabric of all the characters from Beatrix Potter's books and worked my magic. As you can see, having this baby girl has been a lot of fun for me! She brings my creative side out. I love, love, love her!!! Her actual birthday is tomorrow.... Happy Birthday Baby Girl!!!

The Great Escape

So here it is! My studio! I have a ton of things to add to my room, but for now this works out so good for me!! We took our cabinets from the old house and used them to hold all my supplies. You can't see in this pic, but I have doors with glass fronts that show off my fabric selection. Cool, huh? Then I am using our old kitchen table for my cutting table and old executive desk for sewing! Just proves that sometimes it pays off to hold on to things. The windows are one my favorites in the room! There is nothing more soothing and motivating than natural sunlight.

I also have four glass front drawers!! Who would have known eleven years ago (when I picked them out) I would be using these cabinets for my sewing room!?!

Doesn't my Liberty Of London basket
look so good holding these fabrics! I'm
glad the Easter Bunny picked this to hold
all of Isabelle's goodies this year! *wink, wink.*

Busy Summer = Little Sewing Time

This summer has been so much fun with the two little babes. Isabelle was crawling all over the place and getting into everything. Isaac wanted to run & play outside as much as humanly possible. Trips to the zoo, park, & Granny & Pa's left momma little time to sew. I'm not at all complaining, afterall Daddy was still working away on the craftroom. Since my "studio" has been complete it seems as though I can not pull myself away from it. I think I have told Todd everyday, or at least every other day, "I LOVE my room"!! Anyway enough about that. I will post about my studio next time around.

Here are the projects that I have completed this spring & summer. Enjoy. :)
